Where to get a Hot Dog in Joliet

Joes Hot Dog :

Joes Hot Dog is a pretty good place to go get a quick hot dog at the risk of getting sick. You walk up to the window and order there is not a place to sit down and eat. I personally know three people who have gotten sick after eating from there so overall I wouldn't suggest it.

Hey Hot Dog :

Hey Hot Dog is a fantastic place to go get a good hot dog and even better root beer! They make all the root beer themselves and it's very good. You can sit down and enjoy your meal. The owner is very friendly along with everyone else there. It's a great family place the only downfall is that it is very simple, they only accept cash and have a very small menu. I would highly suggest stopping in and getting the hot dog with a big glass of root beer.

What Other People Thought :

While I was at Bases Loaded Sports Bar and Grill after finishing my fantastic food I walked around and asked other people what they thought. One lady was enthused that her and her husband got to share a meal and was excited about how they brought it out. "They brought it out on two separate plates, I’ve never had that happen before and the food was amazing so it was all around a great experience." While one lady enjoyed the food and the experience another only got a one sided experience not caring for her soup saying “it was a little bland however they did replace it with another soup that wasn't on the menu and it was fantastic, they have great service here!"

Bases Loaded Sports Bar & Grill

Joliet Town & Country lanes was built in 1958 and now is the largest family owned center in Will County. Bases Loaded Sports Bar & Grill is located inside of the bowling ally. Family owned and run since 1958 its the perfect place to take your entire family out for a fun night. This bowling ally really separates itself from all others with unexpected amazing quality all around.

The Food :

Before I even ordered my food, I was looking at their menu. It was very nice and laminated, not like any old paper just thrown in front of me. They also had a pretty wide variety for being a restaurant, inside a bowling alley. Which isn't what I expected. Plus they ad really good specials, like $2.00 off the special meal of the day.

The food overall was delectable. I ordered the chicken strips, onion rings, mozzarella sticks, one of there delicious handmade pizzas and a grilled cheese. The food came out relatively fast along with the drinks. I ordered a Pepsi, even though I'm a Coke fan, they only have Pepsi products. Plus they didn't put too much ice in it. Everything was warm and came out correctly as ordered. Not to mention it all filled me up, no small portions served here. I even had some food to bring home, which my family loved as well. The pizza was very inviting, smelled great and tasted even better. I got a simple cheese pizza and it was proportioned really well, not too much sauce or cheese. Ya know when you get pizza with too much sauce and it drops on your white t-shirt. The chickens strips were heavenly, along with the honey mustard that topped it off. When I order chicken strips I always have to have honey mustard and when a place has gross honey mustard it ruins my entire experience, lucky for me the honey mustard here was delightful. I also tried there BBQ sauce and the southwest sauce that they make themselves, all were very good. I wish I could buy some stuff like that from the store! My biggest complaint with the food although it was very good, it was over priced. I couldn't imagine coming here with a family of five how much it would cost to feed everyone, with drinks. For such a family orientated place they should have more family friendly prices. Thank god I only came with one other person!

The Service:

When we walked into the restuarant, I figured I would have someone seat us, but we had to seat ourselves. Which put me off right away, but after waiting only a few minutes our waiter came to the table, which I thought was fast. Our waiters name was Mark. He was very friendly, attentive, and speedy. Mark got our drinks as soon as they were empty and I never had to ask for anything. Our order came out correctly and warm. When we were finished Mark cleared our table. He brought out our check with a very nice "Have a great day!" text message on it. Overall everything with the service was amazing. When you walk into a bowling ally you do not expect to be greeted with great food and good service.

The Building :

Before I even walked in, it was hard for me to find a parking spot, but I can't blame them because it was a Saturday night. But once inside the bar/ restaurant, it was very chill. There are 6 LCD TVs, they had sports on the TV, which gave it a good environment and good entertainment! The place had dim lighting but was very clean overall. It had a nice feeling very relaxing and was very enjoyable. Somewhere you could bring a date, or just a couple friends. The bowling lanes looked very busy like a lot of people were there. I was here on a Saturday night and they started open bowl at abut 9:00, but they had a lot of leagues bowling. There was a need for background music to cover the crashing of the pins. I don't have much to complain about but the bathrooms, they looked cleaned but had a strange smell. As if they needed a air freshener. With eating, bowling, a game room, and three bars it would be very hard to get bored here. They have something for everyone. The game room is good for the kids if their parents wnt to get a couple drinks in them and bowl a few games.

The chrispy chicken strips were the perfect mixture of tender and juicy.

The chicken strips came with the onion rings. Wtih any meanl fries, chips, or onion rings were included.
